Second FLEX4H2 article in the GTW Handbook!

We are most proud of two articles authored by our coordinator, Ansaldo Energia, which were recently published in the Gas Turbine World Handbook.

They showcase the cutting-edge hydrogen combustion technology, Constant Pressure Sequential Combustion, which can burn up to 100% hydrogen.

The first article (published in October 2023 and available here), “Turning to Sequential Combustion Technology to Push Hydrogen Fuel Content to the Extreme,” dealt with modifying Ansaldo Energia’s GT36 sequential combustor design to burn high concentrations of hydrogen blended with natural gas.

The second article (published in October 2024 and available here), “Powering the Future: Sequential combustion technology tested with 100% hydrogen“, provides an update on further development and testing of that modified design to safely operate on up to 100% hydrogen.
